Khanbogd has  been labeled the richest town in Mongolia.  Its population of just over 3,000 is small even by Mongolian standards but its prominent location as the closest town to Oyu Tolgoi and Tavan Tolgoi brings in many outsiders the population will continue to grow in the future.  In contrast to the large houses with new state-of-the-art satellite dishes is a town with relatively no infrastructure.  The town has a single operating “restaurant” which is no more than a small room with 3 tables.  The town “supermarket is very small and understocked and there currently is no operating bar or night club.  Opportunities abound.
